Trustees

 

Hari Aggarwal

Hari Aggarwal: Hari was appointed as a Trustee on 2nd June 2025. Hari also serves as a Member of RMET since February 2016, and previously served as a governor and member of the school PFTA for many years, helping to raise funds for RMGS. His professional background is in finance, working with an international investment bank for 40 years. In addition to his full-time job, he is heavily involved in the local community, including being a school governor at Byron Primary School, and being finance director and treasurer for the Medway Racial Equality Committee (MREC), as well as a public governor for the Medway NHS Foundation Trust. At RMET, he is a member of the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee.  

Dave Brockman

Dave Brockman: Dave has been on the Board of Trustees since 2021, and was previously Chair of Riverside Primary School’s Local Governing Body and in 2017 was named Medway’s “Governor of the Year”. Dave has worked as a journalist, has experience in commercial and retail management, and was on the Advisory Board for the SureStart Children’s Centre. He is currently the Finance Manager of a Medway school where he oversees budgets, financial reports and analysis. For RMET he is Chair of the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee, a member of the Quality of Education Committee, and is lead Trustee for Safeguarding & Prevent, Pupil Premium and Whistleblowing.

Dympna Lennon

Dympna Lennon – Dympna was appointed as a Trustee on 2nd June 2025. Dympna is also a member of the Quality of Education Committee.

Matthew Peacock

Matty Peacock (Chair): Alongside being a Trustee since 2023 and now Chair of RMET’s Board of Trustees, Matty is the Managing Director of Health and Care Space Newham. He has 30 years’ experience across the private and public sector, including formerly being a management consultant and adviser to several governments. Matty lives in Rainham. He attended Rainham Mark Grammar School himself, and is also a parent of a pupil in RMET. Matty is the lead Trustee for Careers, and also a member of the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee.

Jonathan Shields

Jonathan Shields (Vice-Chair): Until his recent semi-retirement, Jonathan was the Head Teacher of one of the largest, successful primary schools in England.  This was his third headship in his twenty-eight year period as a Head Teacher. In addition to headship, Jonathan has over twenty-five years’ experience as an Ofsted Inspector and now works as part of the Southwark Diocese inspectorate.

Other Senior Leadership roles have included working for the Catholic Education Service as the National Assistant Director for all catholic schools in England and Wales and experience as a Local Authority Inspector/Advisor working across primary, secondary and the special educational needs sector.

Additional professional experience involves acting in an advisory capacity as a qualified Performance Management Assessor, supporting Head Teachers and Governing Bodies. Jonathan also sits on the Governing Body of a primary school in the Gillingham area, so he is aware of the current issues affecting schools and school leaders.

In his personal life, Jonathan is married with two daughters, both of whom attended one of the schools in the Trust, and he also has two young grandsons, which keeps him busy.

Jonathan is looking forward to working in partnership with all the stakeholder groups in the Trust to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students.
